Peace Call (Woody Guthrie)
On her newest album, Land of Milk and Honey, Eliza’s intimate
storytelling expands from personal to more political themes, as in the first
track, Hiway 9, with guest vocals by Slaid Cleaves. Co-produced by Mark Hallman,
who also did the previous two CD’s. The album ends with a previously unrecorded
Woody Guthrie song, Peace Call, aided by friends Mary Chapin Carpenter, Patty
Griffin, and Iris DeMent.
